Federal Way fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They enjoyed a cozy 42-27 win over Kentwood on Friday.
Meanwhile, Decatur stacked a fifth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 42-14 victory over Kent-Meridian. The win was familiar territory for Decatur who now have four in a row.
Nehemiah Washington was his usual excellent self, rushing for 192 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry. Washington is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Spencer Holloway was another key contributor, rushing for 107 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Federal Way's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Decatur, their victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1.
Everything came up roses for Federal Way against Decatur when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 50-21 victory. Will Federal Way repeat their success, or does Decatur have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
