This season hasn't been kind to the Bothell Cougars, who are still winless after their eighth game. They took a serious blow against Seattle Prep on Friday, falling 85-43. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bothell has scored all season.
Bothell lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bryson Bell, who scored six points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Mclaughlin, who scored nine points.
Bothell bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Seattle Prep, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bothell will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Marysville-Pilchuck at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Seattle Prep, they will take on Bothell/Inglemoor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bothell/Inglemoor knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Seattle Prep likes a good challenge.
