Basketball Recap: Crossroad Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

There's no place like home for Crossroad Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They strolled past the Munroe Bobcats with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 70-54. The Scorpions pushed the score to 54-34 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bobcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Crossroad Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jabari Boahen, who went 8 of 10 on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Those 17 points gave Boahen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Forrest Dudley, who posted 16 points.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zy Reese, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Antwon West was another key player, going 6 for 8 en route to 16 points.

Crossroad Academy moved to 9-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Munroe, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-6.

Crossroad Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-46 victory against St. John Paul II on the 15th. As for Munroe, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 0-0 win against Community Christian on the 13th.
