The Bolivar Central Tigers''s game two weeks ago was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against Scotts Hill by a score of 28-21. For Bolivar Central, this counts as revenge for the 34-26 defeat Scotts Hill walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2022.
Carson Howell had a dynamite game for Bolivar Central, rushing for 114 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 205 yards and a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Scotts Hill still got an impressive performance from Noah Clayton, who rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and also threw for 159 yards and a touchdown. Clayton's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Avion Jackson, who picked up 106 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Bolivar Central now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Scotts Hill, their loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bolivar Central will take on Liberty Tech Magnet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty Tech Magnet comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Scotts Hill, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against McNairy Central at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (McNairy Central is ranked 278th, while Scotts Hill is ranked 277th).
