Poteet posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Adams out 57-54. Given Poteet's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while Adams is ranked 821st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Spruce's defeat was their 12th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Poteet, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.
Spruce was taken down by Poteet 77-25 in their previous matchup on January 2nd. Can Spruce avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
