Frankfort has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Logansport Berries at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Frankfort lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Thursday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by Southmont at home and fell 62-32. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Frankfort has suffered against Southmont since January 19, 2017.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Vannessa Guardado, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played.
Logansport suffered their biggest defeat since November 10, 2023 on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Anderson, falling 74-42. Logansport has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lydia Goad put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 16 points. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Golda Kitchell, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds.
Frankfort dropped their record down to 1-20 with that defeat, which was their 18th straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.3 points per game. As for Logansport, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Frankfort have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 21.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Logansport struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Frankfort came up short against Logansport in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, falling 54-43. Can Frankfort avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
