The Montezuma-Cortez Panthers extended their postseason success on Saturday against the Ignacio Bobcats. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past the Bobcats  58-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
  Caidin Leonard had a dynamite game for Montezuma-Cortez,  scoring 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Trace Hartsoe, who  scored nine points.
 Montezuma-Cortez's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Ignacio, they have  not been sharp recently as the team has  lost five of their last six games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record  this season.
