Clayton Valley (Concord, Calif.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Michael Protheroe ran for a touchdown with with 9:00 remaining in the third quarter, bringing the team to victory over
Concord (Calif.) 49-22.
The score was knotted at 14 heading into the half. The Eagles took the lead for good on a Protheroe touchdown run in the third quarter.
Clayton Valley secured its victory by scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter to push the final margin to 27.
Uaisele Manoa made a difference for the Minutemen. He ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 10 touchdowns on the season.
Joe Protheroe was the top performer for CV. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 27 touchdowns on the season.
Concord came in surrendering 12.8 points per game this season. CHS struggled against the Eagles, which came in averaging 48.5 points per game.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which the Minutemen took, 42-0.
The loss comes after Concord defeated Casa Grande 14-6 last week.
