Hickory gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They pulled ahead with a 13-12 photo finish over the Farrell Steelers. The Hornets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Steelers, too.
Kelvin Morrison went supernova, rushing for 200 yards and one TD while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run.

Hickory and Farrell should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Hornets will face off against USO [University Prep/Sci-Tech/Obama Academy] at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (80 vs. 270). Meanwhile, Farrell (ranked 81st) will meet Fort LeBoeuf (ranked 267th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
