After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fruitland, Payette was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 14-10 victory over the Caldwell Cougars. With that win, the Pirates brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Darrien Pecunia was a standout: he scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jahzyon Sylva, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.

Payette kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory got Payette back to even at 6-6. As for Caldwell, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Looking ahead, Payette will face off against Homedale at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Caldwell, they will square off against Emmett at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
