The Norborne Pirates lost against the Southwest Wildcats back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Norborne fell 32-19 to Southwest. Norborne has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zach Deitch, who scored six points along with six steals. Deitch set a new season high mark in steals with six.
Norborne's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Southwest, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-5.
Norborne will be playing in front of their home fans against Higbee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Higbee knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Norborne likes a good challenge. As for Southwest, they will head out on the road to face off against Tina-Avalon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tina-Avalon is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
