Baseball Recap: Byers' Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Byers waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Fort Lupton Bluedevils get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Byers got a massive performance out of Jack Earl, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Earl has become a key player for the Bulldogs: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Gabe Price was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.

Byers always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Byers' record is now 10-8. As for Fort Lupton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Byers will venture away from home to take on Yuma at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Lupton, they will head out to square off against Lincoln at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
