The Cambridge City Lincoln Golden Eagles suffered their biggest defeat since December 9, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Knightstown, falling 61-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Cambridge City Lincoln has suffered against Knightstown since January 20, 2015.
Knightstown found their leader in underclassman Lilly Drew, who shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Drew has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycie Cole, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Cambridge City Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Knightstown, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cambridge City Lincoln will take on Blue River Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Blue River Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday. As for Knightstown, they will head out on the road to square off against Union County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Union County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
