Tipton is 1-9 against Alexandria-Monroe since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Blue Devils will square off against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m.
Tipton couldn't beat Madison-Grant on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Argylls by a score of 5-4.
Tipton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Coe, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Alexandria-Monroe and Mississinewa, and Alexandria-Monroe kept the tradition alive. The Tigers came out on top against the Indians by a score of 5-2 on Thursday.
Will Rowland was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Rowland was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 11 games.
In other pitching news, Grayson Gaines looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Mason Fuller, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Wyatt Fuller was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Tipton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Alexandria-Monroe, their record is now 13-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Tipton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Alexandria-Monroe struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Tipton suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Alexandria-Monroe in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
