Madden Perkins made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Emery, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Canyon View on Friday, sneaking past 8-7. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won four in a row.
Kallee Lake made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched. Lake was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
Lake wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kali Jensen, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Jensen has posted over her last 13 contests. Morgan Tutrle also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Emery's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for San Juan, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
Emery's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: San Juan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. It's a different story for Emery, though, as they've only averaged .338. Will they be able to contain San Juan's hitters?
San Juan might still be hurting after the 10-1 loss they got from Emery in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can San Juan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
