Softball Recap: Masuk Extends Winning Streak to Five

Masuk waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Masuk's victory bumped their record up to 15-1-1. As for Kolbe-Cathedral, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Masuk will take on rival Newtown at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 1.3, the Nighthawks 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Kolbe-Cathedral is set to square off against their familiar foe Notre Dame Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
