Softball Recap: Northside Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Northside made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Seymour, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Northside Indians' pitcher stepped up to hand the Seymour Panthers a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. While the Indians didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

A. Reed made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That hit was her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, A. Acosta was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was L. Logsdon, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Northside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The win was the fourth in a row for Northside, bringing their record for this year to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Seymour, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Coincidentally, Northside and Seymour will both be playing Harrold the next time they take the field. Seymour will host Harrold at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Northside will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on March 18th.
