It was a good run, but the Meridian Lions unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 52-45 to IDEA Montopolis.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead IDEA Montopolis to victory, but perhaps none more so than Damarion Fisher, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds. The matchup was Fisher's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Trey Sneed, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Meridian's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3. As for IDEA Montopolis, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Meridian will head out on the road to face off against KIPP Austin Collegiate at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in KIPP Austin Collegiate's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for IDEA Montopolis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Harmony Science Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
