Altamont has gone a perfect 6-0 against Green River recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Longhorns will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Pirates at 4:00 p.m. Altamont is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
Altamont lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Wayne, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's game. The Longhorns put the hurt on the Badgers with a sharp 9-3 win on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Parker Harrison spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.
On the hitting side, Keaton Huff was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in August of 2024. Harrison Lounsbury was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Altamont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Green River had taken Pinnacle down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Pirates fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 6-5.
Green River also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Jason Hernandez gave up six runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Rolando Anguiano was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was David Mendez, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
Green River's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Altamont, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Altamont took their win against Green River in their previous meeting on Tuesday by a conclusive 8-2 score. Will the Longhorns repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
