Softball Recap: Rockridge Snags 16th Win in Last 19 Games

It's playoff time, and Rockridge had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Cuba/Spoon River Valley Wildcats on Thursday as they made off with a 14-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Morgan Hofer was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn David, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Rockridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cuba/Spoon River Valley only posted an OBP of .409.

Rockridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Cuba/Spoon River Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 15-11.

Rockridge has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Sherrard on the 23rd. Cuba/Spoon River Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
