The Wallkill Panthers will be home for the holidays to greet the Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Wallkill couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chapel Field Christian.
Michael Fanning put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of George Avila, who scored four points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, everything went Our Lady of Lourdes' way against Saugerties on Tuesday as Our Lady of Lourdes made off with a 69-45 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Our Lady of Lourdes.
Wallkill's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Our Lady of Lourdes, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Wallkill came out on top in a nail-biter against Our Lady of Lourdes when the teams last played back in February, sneaking past 50-48. Does Wallkill have another victory up their sleeve, or will Our Lady of Lourdes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
