Harding Prep's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Madill. While losing is never fun, Harding Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while Madill is ranked 28th).
Ethan Wilkerson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds for Madill. Wilkerson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylan James, who scored 17 points along with five assists.
Harding Prep now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Madill, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Harding Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Star-Spencer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Star-Spencer is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Madill won't have much time to rest: their next match is against North Rock Creek at 8:00 p.m. on January 5th. North Rock Creek is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
