Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Fort Myers' Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Fort Myers won the last time they faced Immokalee and things went their way on Thursday too. The Green Wave put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 8-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Green Wave, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Daciana Harvey made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Harvey was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sage Rodmyre, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.

Fort Myers has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Immokalee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Myers will challenge Cypress Lake at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Immokalee, they will take on Riverdale in a tournament on Friday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season.
