If Fairview was riding high  fresh off their  17-2 takedown of Hickman County last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Fairview fell  10-7 to the Montgomery Central Indians on Tuesday.  Maddie McGowan was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. McGowan was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Allie Penning and  Cameryn Dunn stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Penning  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3, while  Dunn  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. That  stolen base was  Penning's first of the season.
Fairview's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Montgomery Central, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-3.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairview will host Lawson  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Fairview's pitchers better be ready for this one: Lawson has averaged an impressive 8.5  runs per game this season. As for Montgomery Central, they will look to defend their home field  on Wednesday against Clarksville Academy  at 5:00  p.m. Montgomery Central is facing Clarksville Academy at the right time seeing as Clarksville Academy is stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
