The Canton Warriors fell victim to the Troy Trojans''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Trojans 52-0. It was the first time this season that Canton let down their fans at home.
Troy found their leader in underclassman Brendan Gilliland, who rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown. Gilliland's longest rush was for an incredible 91 yards. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Chimics, who picked up 106 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Canton's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Troy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canton will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on South Williamsport at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. South Williamsport will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Troy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hughesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hughesville is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
