The Pattonsburg Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Albany Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pattonsburg will be strutting in after a win while Albany will be coming in after a defeat.
Pattonsburg posted their closest victory yet this season last Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-50 victory over North Andrew. The victory was just what Pattonsburg needed coming off of a 62-40 defeat in their prior contest.
Albany suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Worth County on the road and fell 57-25. While losing is never fun, Albany can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Worth County is ranked 166th).
Pattonsburg's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Albany, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
Pattonsburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Albany when the teams last played back in December of 2022, sneaking past 60-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pattonsburg since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
