Gared Wood's Big Game Leads Italy over Axtell
Gared Wood was instrumental in extending Italy's winning streak to six on Friday. Wood was dynamite, rushing for 186 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 93-yard run.
Axtell had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Wood it was a similar story. Wood rushed for 240 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 96 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Longhorns duked it out back in October of 2023.

Mays Posts Huge Game in 62-33 Defeat
Itasca had to settle for second on Friday, but Heath Mays sure wasn't going down easily. Valley Mills had no answer to Mays as he rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns.
Itasca dropped their record down to 3-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. Mays and Itasca will take on Rio Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Kaiden Scott posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He threw for 222 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 37 yards.
