The Mountain House Mustangs will head out to take on the East Union Lancers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain House is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Mountain House is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Manteca just ended the team's three-game winning streak last Thursday. They fell just short of the Buffaloes by a score of 6-5.

Luna Lopez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mountain House saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabel Obaob, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, East Union came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory.
The result came thanks to Mikayla Simpson's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, East Union let Caliyah Lopez and Leah Altstadt run wild. Lopez scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Altstadt went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Savanna Lopez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Mountain House's loss dropped their record down to 14-3. As for East Union, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mountain House has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like East Union struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Mountain House was able to grind out a solid win over East Union in their previous meeting back in March, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
