Two dominant signal callers in Ryker Marble and Cameron Hackworth are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Round Valley Elks will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Sabino Sabercats at 7:00 p.m. on November 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Round Valley is ranked 66th, while Sabino is ranked 59th).
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Round Valley had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against American Leadership Academy - West Foothills as Round Valley made off with a 32-7 win. The result was nothing new for Round Valley, who have now won five contests by 25 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, even though River Valley scored an imposing 31 points on Friday, Sabino still came out on top. Sabino strolled past River Valley with points to spare, taking the game 46-31. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sabino.
Hackworth was his usual excellent self, throwing for 467 yards and six touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Shamar Berryhill, who picked up 160 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Round Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Sabino, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3.
