Softball Recap: Stony Point Wins Going Away Against Mcneil

Stony Point got themselves on the board against McNeil on Friday, but McNeil never followed suit. Everything went their way against the McNeil Mavericks as they made off with a 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Grace Kaiser and Kali Winner did most of the damage at the plate: Kaiser went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Winner went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Kaiser has posted over her last 12 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Belle Sauceda, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

Stony Point was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McNeil only posted a batting average of .067.

Stony Point has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. McNeil dropped their record down to 3-7-1 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Stony Point will welcome Vista Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for McNeil, they will head out on the road to face off against Round Rock Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
