The Fordham Prep Rams will be playing at home against the St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fordham Prep has four straight wins, St. Joseph-by-the-Sea has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Fordham Prep didn't have too much trouble with Salesian at home as they won 71-53. Given Fordham Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Salesian is ranked 650th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fordham Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Will Gregory, who scored 23 points. Ryan Jackson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten assists.
While St. Joseph-by-the-Sea couldn't quite beat Mount Pleasant back in December of 2023, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 31-point defeat they were dealt back in December of 2023. St. Joseph-by-the-Sea fell just short of Mount Pleasant by a score of 45-43.
Fordham Prep's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for St. Joseph-by-the-Sea, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
Fordham Prep didn't have too much breathing room in their game against St. Joseph-by-the-Sea when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 55-51 victory. Will Fordham Prep repeat their success, or does St. Joseph-by-the-Sea have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
