Softball Recap: Trumbull Wins Going Away Against Ridgefield

Trumbull got themselves on the board against Ridgefield on Wednesday, but Ridgefield never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Tigers. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 12 runs or more this season.

Trumbull is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Ridgefield, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 9-7 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Trumbull is set to square off against their familiar foe New Canaan at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 2.8, the Rams 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Ridgefield will challenge rival Darien at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
