Calvert is 8-2 against Old Fort since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Senecas will be playing in front of their home fans against the Stockaders at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Calvert's favor as the squad sits on eight straight wins at home while Old Fort has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Calvert is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against St. Joseph Central Catholic on Saturday as they made off with a 21-4 win. The Senecas might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Cameron Moyer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season.

Vincenzo Lyons

04/12/25 @ Seneca East | 2 |
04/11/25 vs Woodmore | 2 |
05/09/25 @ Danbury | 1 |

Moyer wasn't the only one making solid contact as 11 players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Vincenzo Lyons, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Lyons a new career-high. Gabe Badik also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Calvert was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Joseph Central Catholic only posted a batting average of .182.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Old Fort's offense. They lost 11-0 to New Riegel on Friday.
Calvert is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Old Fort, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Calvert has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Old Fort struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Calvert's way against Old Fort in their previous meeting back in April, as Calvert made off with a 6-0 win. Do the Senecas have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Stockaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
