The South Effingham Mustangs posted their biggest victory yet this season on Saturday. They blew past Grovetown 53-30. The victory made it back-to-back wins for South Effingham.
It was another big night for Elena Hairston, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists. Olivia Collins was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rhianna Williams, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sanai McKenzie-Watson, who scored four points along with two blocks.
South Effingham's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-12. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Grovetown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.
South Effingham and Brunswick will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Brunswick is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Grovetown, they will head out on the road to take on Evans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Evans has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19.
