The Sage Ridge Scorpions had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They breezed by Whittell at home to the tune of 60-25 on Friday. The win was just what Sage Ridge needed coming off of a 60-32 defeat in their prior match.
Whittell's loss came despite strong showings from Rocky Laremore and Alex Rvovic. Laremore scored five points along with 11 rebounds and three steals, while Rvovic scored ten points along with three steals. Laremore is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played.
Sage Ridge's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-17. As for Whittell, they dropped their record down to 1-21 with that loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Sage Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-29 loss vs. Mineral County on the 10th. Whittell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
