Basketball Game Preview: George Walton Academy Bulldogs vs. Tallulah Falls Indians

George Walton Academy is 2-8 against Tallulah Falls since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The George Walton Academy Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Tallulah Falls Indians at 5:00 p.m. George Walton Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season.

Last Friday, George Walton Academy lost to Athens Christian on the road by a 53-39 margin. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Leila Mathis, who went 9 of 13 on her way to 22 points. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Hill, who posted ten points and five boards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tallulah Falls, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 47-35 victory over Loganville Christian Academy on Saturday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Indians' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while the Lions are ranked 124th).

Tallulah Falls' victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for George Walton Academy, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 13-3.

Things could have been worse for George Walton Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 42-28 loss to Tallulah Falls in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. Can George Walton Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
