The Lordstown Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Champion Golden Flashes at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 19 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Lordstown and three for Champion.
Lordstown pushed their score all the way to 64 two weeks ago, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Windham.
Lordstown's loss came about despite a quality game from Gannon Force, who scored 32 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The match was Force's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Owens, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Champion was the victim of a tough 63-42 loss at the hands of Garfield on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Champion has scored all season.
Lordstown bumped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Champion, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
