They came out on top against Silliman Institute by a score of 56-48. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Parklane Academy also won the last time the pair played on January 5th.
Parklane Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carlyle Carruth led the charge by scoring 15 points. Carruth's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight. Georgia Lindsey was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Parklane Academy is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Silliman Institute, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Parklane Academy will head out on the road to face off against Oak Forest Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Oak Forest Academy is ranked 64th in Louisiana, while Parklane Academy is ranked 59th in Mississippi). As for Silliman Institute, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Brookhaven Academy at 6:15 p.m.
