5A District 2 recap October 8, 2013
Pineville extended the longest winning streak in 5A District 2 this week by beating Leesville, 37-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Ouachita Parish took down Carroll 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Pineville's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Keandre Rockett threw for 27 yards and Trey Ducote had 20 yards receiving. On the ground Ronnie Campbell contributed 100 yards. Michael Chaney helped Pineville's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 10 yards.
Robbie Martin's team's dynamic duo of Rockett and Ducote proved to be unstoppable against the Wampus Cats, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Chaney helped Pineville's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 10 yards.
Campbell provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Rebels beat Leesville. Campbell's key target this week was Ducote, who caught 2 passes for 20 yards.
As it stands, the Lions are in fourth, while Pineville is in first.
West Monroe and Calvary Baptist Academy played the closest game in the league this week, with West Monroe eventually emerging with a 28-23 victory. Jon Randall Belton during the win.
