Iowa Colony is 3-0 against Columbia since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Iowa Colony Pioneers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Columbia Roughnecks at 7:00 p.m. Iowa Colony will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Even though Iowa Colony has not done well against Stafford recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Iowa Colony managed a 54-48 win over Stafford. The win was all the more spectacular given Iowa Colony's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while Stafford is ranked 143rd).
BJ Gill was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with eight steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Daylen Dalcour, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds and five blocks.
Meanwhile, Columbia scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Brazosport by a score of 76-67. The win was just what Columbia needed coming off of a 72-32 loss in their prior matchup.
Iowa Colony is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-14 record this season. As for Columbia, their victory bumped their record up to 10-18.
Everything came up roses for Iowa Colony against Columbia in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 87-42 victory. Will Iowa Colony repeat their success, or does Columbia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
