Orosi is 1-8 against Strathmore since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spartans at 7:15 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Jason De La Cruz had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 172 yards and a pair of scores. De La Cruz is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 102 every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Strathmore). They really took it to Farmersville for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-16 win. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Aztecs: they've now won eight in a row.
Strathmore's win came from a few key players Orosi will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Gerardo Ruiz, who rushed for 170 yards and two TDs on only five carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 90 yards. Isaiah Colunga was another key player, rushing for 105 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Strathmore was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 518 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 237 rushing yards in four consecutive games.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Strathmore's defense and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Noah Pavone and Abel Garcia, who racked up four sacks between them.
Orosi's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Strathmore, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Orosi has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 349.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Strathmore struggles in that department as they've been averaging 281 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
