The win was some much needed relief for Waynesfield-Goshen as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Despite the loss, Elgin had strong showings from Maycee Muselin, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Samantha Girton, who scored nine points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Muselin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.
The victory got Waynesfield-Goshen back to even at 8-8. As for Elgin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waynesfield-Goshen will stay at home for another game and welcome the Wildcats at 12:30 p.m. on January 27th. Vanlue is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
