The Winston-Salem Christian Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 69-58 to Parkland. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Monday (57), Winston-Salem Christian still had to take the loss.
Parkland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but SaMaurie Moses led the charge by scoring 16 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moses has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Jackson, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Winston-Salem Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Parkland, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Winston-Salem Christian will head out on the road to challenge Oak Hill Academy - Red at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Oak Hill Academy - Red will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Parkland, Parkland and Mount Tabor will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mount Tabor presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Parkland in North Carolina (Mount Tabor is ranked 38th, while Parkland is ranked 248th).
