Myers Park is 6-0 against Berry since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Myers Park Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Berry Cardinal at 7:30 p.m. Myers Park is coming into the match hot, having won their last 11 games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Myers Park gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They really took it to South Mecklenburg for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-40 win on the road. Given Myers Park's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while South Mecklenburg is ranked 29th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Myers Park to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bishop Boswell, who scored 20 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadiq White Jr., who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Even though Berry has not done well against Olympic recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Berry slipped by Olympic 49-48. Berry didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.
Myers Park pushed their record up to 15-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points per game. As for Berry, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-11 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Myers Park against Berry when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 78-42 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Berry's Emanuel Craig, who scored 18 points. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Myers Park to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
