It was a good run, but the Johnson Atomsmashers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 49-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Andrew.
Johnson's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Joshua Quarterman, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds, and Shatiq Parker who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Parker has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Favion Kirkwood, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Johnson's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6. As for St. Andrew's, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Johnson will take on Hart County at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Hart County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Johnson likes a good challenge. As for St. Andrew's, St. Andrew's and Bulloch Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bulloch Academy is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
