After a string of three wins, the Kearns Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Taylorsville. Kearns has not had much luck with Taylorsville recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Kearns still got an impressive performance from Iman Finau, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Finau is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leila Pilimai, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Taylorsville can attribute much of their success to Ella Wolfgramm, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Wolfgramm scored 15 or more points. Marlee Reupena was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists and five steals.
Kearns now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Taylorsville, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kearns will take on West Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in West Jordan's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. As for Taylorsville, they will be playing at home against Cyprus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
