The Wendover Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 45-24 margin over St. Joseph. Wendover's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Wendover found their leader in underclassman Millie Hicks, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Hicks pulled down eight or more rebounds. Natalie Alvarez was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Wendover's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for St. Joseph, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wendover won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Tintic at 2:30 p.m. on December 16th. Tintic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while Wendover is ranked 11th). As for St. Joseph, they will head out on the road to face off against American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
