The biggest upset of the week belonged to Ringgold, who took down 176th ranked Ringgold, 39-37.
Adairsville was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in AAA Region 5. Earlier in the week, the Tigers triumphed over the Tigers 39-37.
Gordon Central's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. MJ Reynolds threw for 242 and three touchdowns and DJ Prather had 82 yards receiving. On the ground Kagan Flanagan chipped in 25 yards. Chandler Curtis helped Gordon Central's passing attack out by catching five balls for 65 yards.
The Warriors' Reynolds and Curtis have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Reynolds has thrown for 1069 yards this season, while Curtis, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 12 catches for 279 yards. Hunter Williams from Coahulla Creek leads the league in rushing with 237 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Cartersville takes on Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe. The Hurricanes are in second place, while the Warriors are in fourth place.
There should be lots of points scored when Gordon Central and the Colts face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Warriors comes in having scored 188 this season, while Coahulla Creek has scored 125. Gordon Central scored 28 points last week as it beat Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe.
The Warriors moved up to 92 from 129 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAA Region 5. Gordon Central climbed the ranks as a result of a 28-6 win over the Warriors.
