The Rock Port Blue Jays were the 55-47 winner over the Stewartsville Cardinals when they last played one another back in February of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Rock Port took a 45-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stewartsville on Friday.
Rock Port lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jack Meyerkorth, who scored ten points along with three steals. Meyerkorth hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Ozey Hurst, who scored seven points.
Rock Port's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Stewartsville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Rock Port won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri on December 16th. As for Stewartsville, they will head out on the road to face off against North Nodaway at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Nodaway is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
