Softball Recap: Swanton Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Swanton entered their tilt with Evergreen on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Vikings 12-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-4 back in April.

Beyla Remer made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 12 games.

In other batting news, Lacey Shinaver was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Jordyn Ramirez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Swanton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Swanton now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Evergreen, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Swanton will head out to square off against Elmwood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Evergreen, they will venture away from home to take on Ottawa Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
